In the Bag

Recently, I was in need of some tote bags to keep at my work office.  The city where I work has officially issued a plastic bag ban, which means shoppers must either bring their own reusable bags to retailers, opt for paper bags, or pay a hefty price for plastic alternatives.  It’s a positive stride in becoming a greener city.  Yet with a Target nicely situated within a short stroll from my desk, I knew I’d need to have some backup. A Target trip for tissues means a checkout packed with cosmetics, clothes, a Swiffer, some plates, holiday decorations, lightbulbs, plastic storage bins, and ketchup.  It’s impossible to leave that store with just the one thing you initially needed.

At any rate, when I discovered that a gorgeous selection of French-themed totes exists in this world, I knew that I immediately needed them, and they’d actually serve a useful purpose in my daily life. Kismet!  My favorite part of this discovery?  They are sold by an ALP favorite and ‘Ex-Pats We Love’ alum, Diane- the blogger behind Oui in France.  Aside from being visually beautiful and creative, the craftsmanship is far superior compared to all those other flimsy reusable shopping bags available for sale at the grocery store.

Oui in France totes are 100% organic cotton and designed by Diane herself with the help of a French artist right in France.  Quality and authenticity- doesn’t get better than that, does it?  Since I love these totes so much, and they’re currently on SALE for 20% off, I created a top-ten list of scenarios in which these gorgeous totes would be the perfect help for YOU in your daily life:
